The Traills are originally from the Orkney Islands in Scotland - but Phil was born in America and brought up in England.
He started his career in live entertainment TV shows (like ‘The Big Breakfast’) - whilst writing and directing short films in his spare time.
Phil has directed two films - ‘All About Steve’ (7% on Rotten Tomatoes) and then ‘Chalet Girl’ (82% on Rotten Tomatoes). He’s hoping that his next film continues the progression and scores 153%.
Phil lives in Los Angeles, where he is writing more films - and directing lots of TV shows. This year’s work includes episodes of Raising Hope (Fox), Breaking In (Fox), Jane By Design (ABC Family), Bent (NBC), Wedding Band (TNT).
And he also does a LOT of trampolining with his kids...
